What can I do with my hands when I quit smoking?  

Many people find it helpful to have a grab bag of "tools" ready for them when they are quitting smoking.
Some people have kept things like drinking straws (cut down to the size of a cigarette), toothpicks, juice boxes, carrot and celery sticks, sugarless hard candy and/or gum, etc. Others even keep things like Silly Putty, Play-Doh, "stress heads," Koosh balls, crossword puzzles, or other small hobbies that keep both the hands and mind busy. These things are really helpful for when you're working through a cigarette craving, because they replace your cigarette with something that's healthy
